My dog has diabetes!
So have you got any answer yet? I’ve some simple ones here.. For those of you whom have experience in your pets having this disease you can drop in some comments, will appreciate it.
Lately a girlfriend of mine brought her cat to the vet with the complaint of “inactive”. Well.. sadly, two days ago, she had just fed her cat with 1/4 of 500mg panadol! poor creature… if you have read my previous posts on panadol/paracetamol/acetaminophen, you’d know tat these drugs are a BIG NO-NO for cats.
Nevertheless, she got a big slap from the vet, the cat was hospitalized and set on drip and treated for paracetamol toxicity. haha. nevermind the “inactive”ness. After further interrogations from the vet, my friend mentioned that her cat has been drinking and urinating alot lately.
“And his beautiful, o-so masculine muscles.. they’ve turned flabby now… What happened?”
Haaa… you guessed it right. Poor cat is a victim of diabetes mellitus.
Some simple answers here are…
1. Drinking and urinating lots
2. Muscle wasting
3. Weight loss despite good appetite
4. Inactive
and lots more. chip in more answers! =)
Will share on some therapy in my later posts! =)
